Each year, the Slocum Research & Education Foundation offers a number of $1,500 college scholarships to high school seniors who maintain high academic achievement, participate in extracurricular leadership activities at their school and demonstrate a commitment to community service.

The scholarship targets students who plan to pursue a healthcare-related career path. The Foundation has encouraged students to apply who have been influenced to pursue a health-related profession or degree as a result of personal experiences or challenges with health, illness or injury.

We are pleased to announce the 2021 Slocum Foundation College Scholarship Recipients:

Jillian Liebersbach, Junction City High School - Future Physical Therapist

Augustine Manalansan, Churchill High School - Future Registered Nurse

Citlalli Badillo, Churchill High School - Future Nurse Practioner 

Jenna Ward, Sheldon High School - Future Registered Nurse

Jasmine Basi, Junction City High School - Future Physician 

Hsin Huang, South Eugene High School - Future Surgeon

Abby Raven, Thurston High School - Future Physical Therapist

This year we were unable to have an awards ceremony for the recipients, so the students were awarded their scholarships with a box of custom cookies provided by a local bake shop: Sugar Pie Bake Shop
