Healthy Moves
Healthy Moves is a non-profit organization bringing movement, fitness, and fun to elementary students lacking physical education programs at school. From Healthy Moves, the JumpStart Program was created. JumpStart is a 30 minute activity program provided to students before school lead by trainers and volunteers. The program is designed to stimulate physical activity for kindergarten-fifth grade students and has the added benefit of preparing them to focus better in the classroom.
Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
Slocum Orthopedics is home to some of the region's most highly skilled orthopedic surgeons and specialists. Equipped with specialists in hand & upper extremity, total joint, foot & ankle, trauma and sports medicine, Slocum aims to provide patient centered care and improve quality of life of the local population.
University of Oregon, Department of Education
The Department of Education at the University of Oregon works together with school districts to meet the needs of children and families nation wide. Partnering with the local community allows students access to a diverse array of best practices in education and human services, which come from academic programs and the research of nationally renowned faculty.
Kidsports
Kidsports is a non-profit youth sports program serving the Eugene-Springfield area. It is the only multi-sports center in Lane county and provides both scholarships and fee assistance to prospective athletes to ensure that all children are all to participate in sports.
University of Oregon, Bowerman Sports Science Clinic
The Bowerman Sport Science Center is a regional research and outreach facility that aims to improve the health, fitness, and well-being of individuals in and around Eugene, OR. With a scientific and clinical background, they pursue research questions which leach to innovations in injury prevention and improved performance.
The Phil and Penny Knight Campus is a hub of discovery and innovation where teams of world-class bioengineers and bioscientists are driving groundbreaking scientific research and providing an innovative approach to technical training, professional development, and entrepreneurship. Their current research focuses around biomaterials, medical sensors & devices, neural engineering, biomedical AI, and regenerative rehabilitation.

Vanderbilt University, Department of Orthopedic Surgery
Vanderbilt University is the largest comprehensive research, teaching, and patient care health system in the Mid-South region. Many Slocum Physicians completed portions of their training at Vanderbilt, and one past Slocum Physician returned to Vanderbilt to serve as an assistant professor. Partnering with Vanderbilt, Slocum aims to implement innovative technologies and processes to ultimately provide the patients with the highest level of care.
Oregon Research Institute
Oregon Research Institute is an independent non-profit behavioral sciences research center dedicated to understanding human behavior and improving the quality of human life through the prevention and treatment of health, educational, and social problems. Their research portfolio includes developmental studies, observational studies, and efficacy trials related to behavioral, mental, and physical health.
University of Oregon, Department of Human Physiology
The Human Physiology Department at the University of Oregon studies the mechanical, physical, and biomechanical functioning of humans and the overall relation of the discipline to science, medicine, and health. The engaging, inclusive, and evidence-based teaching in tandem with a cadaver-based curriculum allow students to to chart unanswered questions about how the human body works.
University of Iowa, Department of Orthopedic Surgery
In partnership with the University of Iowa, Slocum has participated in cutting edge Orthopedic research. Six surgeons at Slocum Orthopedics completed their medical training at the University of Iowa before relocating to Eugene, lovingly termed "the Iowa of the West"
