Throughout the years, regularly scheduled continuing medical education opportunities and special educational events have been hosted by the Slocum Research & Education Foundation, driven by the needs and interests of the local provider community. These events have included musculoskeletal care in primary care settings, concussion management for athletic trainers, pain management, and care of the track and field athlete, among others.

The Annual Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Update is an in-person event hosted at the Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Eugene, Oregon. No remote/webinar attendance will be offered. 

Primary care providers and allied health professionals are encouraged to attend. We are pleased to offer our annual continuing education course in joint providership with PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center.

  • To stay up to date on the orthopedic surgery, general orthopedics, rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal care literature through peer-facilitated discussion. Up to two discussion groups may occur simultaneously. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to: (1) compare and contrast different treatment approaches for specific orthopedic conditions and (2) assess opportunities to incorporate best practices into clinical work flow.
